I'm still a rookie blogger. And with that comes the constant realization that there is so much to learn in the blog world. Like...
::Valentine posts begin early. Like, in January.
::And Feb.1 launches all the "love month" chatter.
I have a ways to go. You aren't going to see me throwing hearts on my walls or making LOVE banners to deck my windows with.
But...
you will see me making lots of Valentine's. In all sorts of ways. For all sorts of people.
I made these little conversation heart-inspired goody bags for my Girl Scout troop.
(Yes, I'm a girl scout. Still a rookie in that department, too.)
My girls have a stack of patches they have earned over the past two months, and I wanted a cute way to present the patches to them. I came up with these...
This was way too simple, really. I know, Amber. I know. But trust me, they really are simple.
I cut out two sizes of hearts, and wrote messages on the smaller conversation hearts in red fabric paint. After stitching them onto a larger red heart, I sewed that red heart onto another red one, leaving the top open for stuffing with patches.
I hand-stitched a ribbon from front to back of the heart bag, making a cute little handle.
That's it!
Oh, and for the name tag I punched a heart shape into a shipping tag and tied it around the handle.
These would be way cute with candies inside. Or a love letter. Or a small trinket.
Let love take over...

What lucky little girl scouts you have! They're going to love those sweet little pockets.
I love your new header (forgot to mention that a while back) and the sassy new pink sidebar. Very, very nice!

Those are so super cute! What a great idea! I'm sure your girls will love them! I need to get into the Valentine's spirit around here :)
Yea," EASY", Martha (as in Stewart). ; ) No really, they're adorable. I'm just jealous.
Oh, and I wanted to tell you that I do intend to do the 7 Random things. I just might change it to 7 Random "Love" stories or something. I never follow rules.
oh my word those are so cute.

sew good girl! :)
So, so cute! It is pathetic how many projects I have sitting on my table waiting to be completed and now I want to all this one too!
LOVE your pictures below too! You are beautiful!
From one GS leader to another... well done! So cute. I love that idea. We should talk GS shop sometime. I am a rookie too, just so you know. My new post is an activity we did with a few of them. On another note, I ADORE your pictures of you and your kids. Beautiful. I hope you will enjoy those around your home. Just beautiful.
I know what you say, but the ease of this project requires a sewing machine. A sewing machine which I do not possess. Maybe someday when I give in to my maternal instinct to be a crafty goddess, but until then I will live vicariously through you and your cute Valentine's crafts. I promise to post pics of the Valentine's I do with the girls, but that is where I draw the line. But for the record, I love these.
I loathe you crafty types!
OK. I don't...I admire you and wish I had the patience. Those hearts are AWESOME!

I am just looking for valentine things and found these hearts. LOVE LOVE THEM. I am a very OLD G.S. person and am thrilled when I see young women taking up leadership and doing things for their girls. Keep up the good work the girls will appreciate you for life... Sandi..
